Running a mobile business can feel like spinning plates while riding a bike. You’re booking appointments, juggling cancellations, driving across town, managing client messages, and somehow trying to keep your books in order, all while delivering a great service.

It’s exactly that chaos that inspired Stephanie Cleck, Co-Founder and CEO of Clexi, to build something better. Clexi is designed to be the “business manager in your back pocket”, the tool that helps mobile service providers save time, increase profits, and finally breathe again.

We sat down with Steph to talk about what drives her, what keeps her inspired, and why she believes every mobile business owner needs a mindset shift as much as they need better tools.


The Pain Point That Sparked It All

Steph has spent years watching mobile service providers run themselves ragged, and one struggle in particular stuck with her.

“They are often so deep in their work that they don’t have the time to contemplate that there is an easier and better way to operate their business,” she explains. “Of course all change is challenging but we know that once a business owner has made the switch and adopted their new normal they look back and wonder how the heck they ever ran their business without Clexi.”

For her, it’s not just about efficiency, it’s about helping providers realize they don’t have to keep doing everything the hard way.

If She Could Wave a Magic Wand

When asked what problem she would solve instantly for mobile business owners, Steph doesn’t talk about money or time. She talks about mindset.

“Mindset. As business owners it’s woven into our beings that we must wear all the hats,” she says. “There’s often times a trust issue because they’re so used to having to do everything for their business and many times manually. I’d tweak their mindset from gritty to curiosity."

That shift, from doing it all alone to trusting systems that support you, is at the heart of Clexi’s mission.

Geeking Out Over the Future

If there’s one thing that lights Steph up, it’s the future of AI inside Clexi.

“The vision of where we’re taking our Ai. It’s insane. It is literally a business owner’s dream what we have planned out. Baby steps of course but once we get there it’s going to be life changing for our subscribers.”

She doesn’t just see Clexi as a tool for today, she sees it as the future backbone of mobile business growth.

A Business Manager in Your Back Pocket

So how does Steph describe Clexi to someone who’s never heard of it? She keeps it simple:

“A business manager in your back pocket. Aside from running your own business you often are so deep in the day to day that you can’t question if things are being done with profit in mind, much less efficiently. Clexi is your business manager that will guide you, make suggestions, and handle the mundane tasks so that you can keep making the money doing what you enjoy.”


Her Proudest Moments

Like most startup founders, Steph admits the journey hasn’t been easy.

“Like all tech startups it’s been a roller coaster of emotions,” she says. “There have been lots of moments in which I’ve felt extreme pride but I think meeting the really cool and inspiring folks who have been so kind to take us under their wing, point us in the right direction, and cheer us on. The fact that they believe in the Clexi team and our vision has been extremely humbling.”


Advice for New Mobile Service Owners

Steph remembers being at the starting line herself, and she knows how overwhelming it can feel.

“Reach out to Clexi! I’ve been at the starting line before and it can certainly be overwhelming. Aside from calling Clexi I recommend being as organized as possible. Cross your t’s and dot your i’s. Collect all customer information in advance, take detailed appointment notes, ask for referrals, and keep up with your books. That’s all.. just a few minor things there,” she laughs.


The Mindset Shift That Changes Everything

Scaling isn’t just about more clients or more hours, Steph says, it’s about staying curious.

“Curiosity and the willingness to keep learning things outside of your craft,” she explains. “Learn customer service, learn bookkeeping, learn marketing… Go in hungry and curious.”


A Quick Win Every Provider Can Use

If there’s one habit she swears by, it’s simple: rebook before you leave.

“Always rebook your customers before you leave their appointment. It will save you time on the ‘rebooking’, on the outreach/engagement, and will allow you to have a small glimpse into your future sales.”


A Personal Side of Steph

Behind the CEO title is a woman with plenty of surprising stories.

“At 21 I was hired by a family to take their teenage daughters to Florida for 6-weeks. I was a very responsible kid BUT entrusting me fully with these girls was pretty crazy as I look back on it,” she laughs.

These days, her fuel is simple: “I now drink my coffee black - hold the cream and sugar.”

She also lives by a motto that’s shaped her outlook: “Make lemonade. Life will most certainly give you lemons.. it’s up to you to make it sweet.”

And here’s a fun fact most people don’t know: “I ended up singing in a touring cover band in the early 2000’s to many SEC schools. I was on stage several nights a week and now struggle with the thought of doing karaoke.”


Looking Ahead

From black coffee mornings to bold visions for AI, Stephanie Cleck is proving that leadership isn’t just about building software, it’s about building confidence in mobile providers everywhere.
